Gold Bracelet

ABOUT

This piece of jewelry is worn on the wrist. It is made of gold. The curving style of the bracelet is called “double-rope”. The owner, David Chen, has worn this bracelet ever since the first day it was given to him as a gift by his mother. However, it is not his first bracelet. David receives his first silver bracelet from his mother as a very young boy. Unluckily, he loses the gift soon after starting wearing it. The loss of such an important thing gets his mother very upset so she immediately takes him back to the store and purchases him another one and tells him to never lose it again. As the boy grows up, his mother replaces the silver bracelet with the gold one. A question may arise, why does wearing a bracelet mean a lot to David’s family? The answer to this question lies in tradition. The bracelet symbolizes luck, hope and wealth. Also, according to a Chinese tradition, having a bracelet symbolizes a keepsake of love and harmony. That is why David’s family takes this custom of wearing jewelry very seriously. The owner describes it as the “Evolution of one’s life as they grow older and more mature to start pathing the way to their adulthood.” In other words, the bracelet serves to its owner as a reminder of his origin and childhood memories.
